Dennis was born and raised on a farm near Elgin, North Dakota. After graduating from North Dakota State University, he built a successful 45-year career in business and agricultural lending. Dennis now lives in Moorhead, Minnesota with his wife. They have three children and six grandchildren. He currently serves as an Elder at Bethel Church in Fargo, North Dakota.
